A bad 2nd round leads to a missed cut

Got off to a terrible start on the 2nd round of Open Dar Es Salam, and was never able to make up enough shots on the backnine to save a decent score. Ended up missing the cut with one shot, which is always about as irritating as it gets...

In short, I was five over par after five holes. Hit two drives a touch offline, both in a fairway bunker under the lip with no chance to hit the green. Also, one of my approach kicked into a greenside bunker and plugged into a downhill lie...no chance but to play sideways, ended up with a double bogey after a bad chip. Just slight misses leading into bogeys with no chance to make pars. Played the remaining holes at one over, which wasn't too bad.

It was nowhere near the performance I had on the first day, when I hardly missed a shot. I was a bit sloppy with ballstriking during the whole day, and never really felt like I was in control of the round. In all honesty, I can't be expecting to hit it pure every day while working on a swing change. Things are just no where near to being worked in enough to play on "full auto-pilot" mode. That time will come soon, I know that from how the move feels. On a positive note, my shortgame (which has never been good) has really been quite decent in the last two tournaments. No three putts in the last five rounds, must be somekind of a record for me!:)

Heading to the last venue of the trip tomorrow morning. Can't wait to go spend the whole day on the range!!

Hunter, you got it....
